Writing an argumentative essay was
harder than I imagined. I always thought that having a stance in the writing
will make the writing process much easier, however, this was not the case for
this assignment, as we had to follow specific guidelines such writing claims
and counterclaims.
Personally, I had
some difficulty finding an image to add in my writing, as the scholarly reports
for the topic I chose were very limited and hard to find.
One thing I think I did good in my
paper is effectively using Logos, Ethos, and Pathos in my writing. I used logos
by implying logic in my first point, that social media does not promote freedom
of speech. I implied ethos by using credible sources and reputable scholars for
my counter claims. I used pathos by sharing my family’s tragic story that
related to the issue I was implying regarding the danger of the lack of privacy
in social media can cause.
One specific thing that I wish I
could have done better is to hyperlinking a documentary or a clip in my
writing. I conducted several research and was not able to find any credible
video that regarded my topic. I wish I could have had more time, although I did
put all my effort in this paper.
Over all, writing an argumentative
essay was definitely something I will remember in the future, as I am now much
more confident to write a better argumentative paper using the things I learned
in class.
