Reflection: Informative Essay 1st
Draft
Honestly, I struggled writing in an
informative approach, as I always tend to lean on one argument and express my
bias in the writing. However, as described in the course learning objectives,
and as discussed in class, I reminded myself to be “clear, logical, and
unbiased” throughout my writing, as the objective is to inform, not to
persuade. This was especially challenging because throughout the research, the
more and more I read my sources, I began to lean on the view that organic food
is no different with inorganic food. Although this was a personal bias, I am
afraid that having this thought as I write my essay impacted my writing and
allowed the readers to possibly sense the bias I felt.
Regarding the format of my writing,
I followed the format we discussed in class--the format which was used in the
essay which discussed whether texting affects writing ability. I found having
the sub-headings was a great idea, as the whole purpose of writing is to make
the readers understand and get informed. I believe that having the sub-headings
will make the writing more definite and clear, allowing the readers to easily
follow the points I emphasize.
I still have a far way to go, as I
need to improve my essay and I already feel the imperfection in my writing. The
greatest factor which I think gave me the motivation was that I was passionate
with this topic and interested with the findings myself.
